Intend to develope my car over the course of this year for serious trackday work. First step brakes. Been a bit suprised to be advised that all I need to do is slot in a set of Redstuff pads. Is this right. Are the rest of the brakes - discs etc. - really up to the job. Never come across a car which needed so little upgrading brakes wise if this is the case. Any thoughts!

Cheers.

i have haerd on more than one occasion that the only "overated" item fitted to the vee6 were the brakes.

however, upgrades by brembo and tarox are avaialble at a premium.

david a k tec did me a deal on braided lines and red stuffs and they seem fine for me with the occasional fast road blat and track visit

Thanks for the comments so far guys. Maybe I'll go for the pads and hoses to start with and see how it goes. I'm still enclined to think I'll go further though.
MikeT - which six pots are you using? Also I notice that you're not that far from me - I'm north Hampshire - have you found someone in the area who's good on working on the car. I'm thinking brake mods and then susp., exhuast, etc. etc. as the year progresses and I don't know one end of a spanner from the next frankly.

Highly recommended.

I know he does Mike's car along with many others on here.

Peter :D

I'll second MikeT on the DS2500s recommendation - used them on my car which was a hard working member of a track day car hire fleet for a period of time.

Was running DS2500s at the front and EBC red stuffs at the rear which worked surprisingly well and so much cheaper than OEM.

Spoken to Brakes4u and they definately do not stock Ferrodo and never have done! They asked me to make everyone aware!
