Mk 1 and mk2 suspension

Hi guys just a quick one does the Mk 2 front suspension spring fit the Mk 1 leg and car as the springs are priced so different £205 for mk1 and £89 for Mk 2. I only ask as the spring or shock on my mk1 has dropped on driver side compared to the passenger near side, please help
