Meguiars polishers

I have one Matt, I like it nice and easy to use. However my friend has a porter cable polisher which I find better, which gives better results faster and I think there cheaper. Just need to watch as I think it could damage the paint a lot quicker.

I got a porter cable a few years ago and they are a nice piece of kit, sure the Meguires is near identical spec wise :approve: . Should be fine using any dual action polisher as they are relatively safe to use and shouldn't create too much heat build up LINK
But at the end of the day Matt the polisher is only as good as the person using it.......that's why my vee went for a pro detail in the end

I bought the PC one too which now works on UK voltage rather than a US-UK converter.

There are usually some good deals with the various polishes and pads etc. - I'll try and dig out the company I bought mine from. I seem to remember when doing my research that the Megs one is well rated but expensive and you are basically paying for the name.

Fortunately I had someone show me how to use it and it did an amazing job (on my Vee and GT4) but I had to clay the cars first which took hours !

Thanks for comments above guys. Some food for thought. Nice to hear that they are effective and do make a difference. Definately want one!

I use the kestrel das6 pro its a good da and easy to use, as said above the megs is good but you are paying for the name, I've been detailing for about 2 years now if you need any tips let me know :D

I use a PC, but the whole US-UK power 240-110v is daft. The Megs will give just a good results imo!

No oribital polisher will damage your paint! Not unless you hold it down as hard as you can for about 5mins with an aggressive polish/pad combo!

Same, I've had the kestrel for about 3 years, very happy with it, but as said above.. It's only as good as the person using it,
