Does anyone know if there is a regular meet in this area or if there are regular meets anywhere near south midlands area as I would like to go and try and get a ride in a v6 having never been in one , Have read lots of reviews in previous issues of Evo , they seem to have a very high regard for the little bombshell ! Thanks in advance !

Good question. I am in Birmingham and have recently changed from the Ford scene where there were lots of meets if you felt that way inclined! Not yet looked into renault meets but suer there must be some. I guess there aren't many v6 gatherings due to the cars rarity?
:welcome:

I'm based in Northampton and you'd be more than welcome to take mine out for a ride.........although the deal is you'll be the one pushing it back up the hill where I live! We used to have a member on here who asked the same thing. I met him in Newport Pagnell and a few weeks later he had one. If you want to get up close to one that's currently a rolling shell so you know what your looking at, feel free to drop me aa pm. Word of warning though, you will catch the bug if you go out in a runner. :approve:

One possible meet up which may work for people in the Midlands area is Sywell aerodrome at the Aviator restaurant/bar which is a meet up for various car clubs , I often go to the Tvr meets there every second sunday of the month and they welcome all sports cars - I used to have a tvr wedge seac but now turn up in a 7 or z4mc , other cars include a real countach and various porsches as well as tvr's. Meets start at around 12 noon onwards , general banter, car run outs , in depth chat about cars etc as well as view of the airfield which is fairly busy , and an excellent 30's style art deco bar .

Funny you say that. I was thinking that this year although I just didn't have enough time to organise anything. Myself, Williams, Bill Patchall and Godbers Bro was at Overstone park week before last which is at the end of the runway.

Worth going to the Aviator to have a look as there is a massive car park and lots of planes and a museum as well as a very good retro pub/restaurant .

I'll have a look at that when I get back from my holidays

Seems like a great venue for a meet! Enjoyed the recent outing to Duxford, but it was too busy, car-wise, with all manner of Renaults in attendance with very little to hold one's interest. The museum on the other hand is ace........so anything similar with interesting cars to boot as well would be marvellous. :approve:

I started out looking for a TVR griffith and somehow ended up with the Vee! Will definately own one one day. Any regrets changing your wedge?

Yes , the seac is a very very rare special wedge , everyone out there in tvr land wants one so prices have gone silly ! Should have kept it but it needed to go out more , a bit of an animal to drive , one day I may get another tvr !

I also attend a few TVR local meets and know how cherished the seac is. Find the tvr owners a great bunch and really helpful. They never say no to a free ride!

Very true , they are used to having their legs pulled on tvr quality issues and occasional reliability probs , but the cars make up for it by being true drivers cars and having a sound to die for !

Ok just a heads up for the Sywell Northants meet this sunday at after 12 noon at the Aviator which is officially the tvr northants meet but various other interesting stuff as well ! Matt said he is planning on going so hoping to cadge a run out in his v6 for a run out in my 7 , anyone else is welcome !

I'm gonna have to bail on this tomorrow I'm afraid. I got engaged a couple of days ago, and it turns out I have to go to a 'surprise' lunch tomorrow to celebrate. I thought about sacking it off for the car meet, but that's probably not the best way to start of one'a engagement! I'll be at the next one!

The meet will obviously be poorer from no v6 's ! I will go and see whats happening as haven't been for 3 mths , various people have changed cars etc from what I've heared inc someone buying a sagaris !

I am popping along to my local TVR club (warwickshire and west mids) meet at the Bulls Head, Meriden this sunday 20th. starts about midday. :race:
