massive flat spot and backfire

my V has a big flat spot sometimes when i give it some beans. if i am just driving normally it is fine, but as soon as i go to overtake anything the revs get to 4-5k an it hits this flat spot, it wont rev higheruntil the throttle is released, which is closely followed by a backfire.as soon as it backfires is is fine and will rev all the way. it is extremely annoying and potentially dangerous [smilie=icon_eek.gif] !! i have read posts on coils but it doesnt seem to be the same symptoms, i have changed the fuel filter but still nothing. only other thing i can think of is fuel pump?! i have read the codes an they relate to some sensor below threshold??? anyone have any ideas or similar problem??

I had this with mine, was oxygen sensor - do you have black smoke / sooty exhaust and is the fault "Fuel Trim Malfunction" e.g. p0173?

You can buy the sensors from here original Bosch items for 60 quid or so each, cost about 3 times as much from Renault.

I replaced all four since they will go at some point

i will get one of them then mate? easy to fit or?? yeah it does has some sooty smoke when you give it the beans. the fault reads mass fuel over required threshold or something.i will check it again tonight for you.

which one did you buy as there are universal ones there or ones that state they are for a clio but not a V6.?

cheers

Its the real V6 Bosch OEM part and the part number 0258006027

Just typed it into Ebay and got this at 64 quid each - cheaper than Renault for sure - its worth getting all four cos I think they all go at some point

I had a mechanic fit them - not so easy as bit fiddly cos of space

If your overfuelling might damage the cats? Plus I had an oil change and flush done as well, plugs etc to give it a good clearout

which one of the 2 is it wongy??? il get them ordered asap
