Just need some extra ribbons on the mirrors now and some good weather tokens and its good to go for Saturday! :race: [smilie=yay.gif]

Good weather tokens for two reasons ... the obvious one, and the secondary being that you don't want to have to wipe your windscreen with ribbons on ;). My drive to my wedding, in my car of the time - a Citroen ZX Volcane, was made memorable by my best man having to get out in the pissing rain and untangle ribbons from the wiper! Became a bit of a rush after then, since realized it'd be bad form to overtake my wife-to-be on the way and suddenly had to wing it via a different route I wasn't 100% certain would get us to the church on time.

Wishing you both an awesome day!

This happened to me last year. Was a nightmare with ribbons on. Make sure they are tight under pillars inside and clear windscreen wipers pal. Fingers crossed for the good weather!

I have polished the windscreen heavily with the hope that I shouldn't need them but I have tried them in the garage and the passenger wiper just touches the ribbon when it's right up.. Obviously this will be worse at 70mph as the ribbon will be pushed against the car more...

Matt, how much tension did you have yours under? Mine are pulled very tight to stop them sagging and hopefully to reduce any flapping on the paintwork, although I'm planning to put some 3M detailing tape under the ribbon on the bonnet.

Lets just hope Louise can clear the sill and lower into the recaros while wearing her dress and not getting it dirty if the ground is wet!!!

Quite abit of tension mate but it poured it Devon on my big day so had no other choice but to use wipers :( ribbons looked like they had been through a dish washer by the time we reached the party! Pole positions and wedding dresses will be interesting... Will it be more of a case of Louise dropping in to the seat?! :) sure you'll have a fab time. Get some good pics of the vee mate :approve:

Do you have a picture of yours mate so I can compare how you did it? Did you go through the grille like I have?

Also did you have ribbons on the mirrors and where did you find those from?

We have a 20 minute motorway drive from church to reception so I'd say it's likely the wipers will be needed :( typical after we've had lovely weather lately!

All the best for your big day Colin [smilie=yay.gif], the forecast for Saturday doesn't look great at the moment  still I'm sure you'll both have a lovely day :salut:

Some pics.. (It was lashing it down). Fastened front to near the diamond at the back and inside to the pillars mate.

Didnt use Bows on mirrors as thought they might fly off :)

lol at using a vee as a wedding car. My misses would divorse me before we got married if i told her to rock up in the Vee...

Me on the other hand, i would embrace it! ha!

Have a great day. We used our classic mini as a wedding car and put ribbons in it. Unfortunately Mrs R couldn't fit it it, so she was on the vintage bus to the evening reception while me and best man went in the mini...

Congrats to you both!! Its also nice to see you getting to enjoy the car on such a special day. :approve:
