Mark Fish Motorsport

My Clio was due a service at the end of May, so I look around the Forums to see where other Essex owners take their V6 for its annual service. I asked James, and he mentioned I should give Mark Fish a call in Harlow.

I called Mark during the day, and I asked about the service, and what it includes and normal questions about times, cost etc. Mark told me a little history about himself and his team, and his passion for racing and engineering. He admitted his marketing wasn't his strongest point, but his team use to race the Clio V6 back in 2001. So he clearly knew his stuff!

So it was all booked in within a week of the phonecall, and I was to drop the car off one morning during the week.

Mark gave a thorough look over the car and called me back the same day I dropped it off and told me of his findings and what sort of work will probably need doing and made sure he was not there to spend my money for me, but offered some great advice. He even pointed things out about missing inner arch clips so I was definatly confident about taking my car to Mark.

I told Mark I was happy to keep the car there for aslong as he needed it, and I didn't have it for 2 weeks, because of parts being ordered from France, and other work etc.. His right hand man (Rob I think) was working on the car along with Mark, and both together they have done a fantastic job! He was honest in his labour time, and his attention to detail and perfection was spot on. The car drives alot better, and I have a clear conscience now that the car is in great working order, aslong as I stay on top of things.

The invoice is a huge list including rear brake discs, and rear pads. Fitting new front discs and front pads.

When I picked the car up, Mark was 100% with the brakes yet, and asked if I would mind if he could just finish the complete road test, and get the brakes working as he wants them to. So he took me out in my V6 around the country roads, testing the ABS and braking. You wouldn't get that at Renault!! Also he kept all the parts that have come off the car, and showed me the state of them, and explained how it works, and why I needed things changed, etc...

I would really reccomend Mark to anyone in Essex or around Essex, or anyone that is willing to drive to Essex for any type of work! His bodywork apparently is amazing.

As for costs.. the prices are good. It seems he can compete on a prices but somethings are just expensive from wherever you get them but it becomes irrelevant when you leave his workshop in what feels like a brand new car.

Thanks,
Rob

Certainly knows what he's doing does Mark that's for sure. Sorted my suspension out perfectly.

Good review Rob. :approve:

Rate him if you wish. dealer.php

c2004, long before we owned our Vee, it was smashed up quite badly and it was a gnat's c**k from being a Cat-D. As the story goes, Mark Fish got his hands on it and it's still soldiering on strong! :approve:

Sorted my suspension out perfectly.

That reminds me. He was telling me about all the modifications he does. And he mentioned a suspension upgrade for the phase 1, which gives it an unbelieve change in handling, and some say an improvment on the Phase 2.

The workshop was worth going to see in itself. Full of cars which lots and lots of goodies on them. Especially Mini Cooper's

Just to second as Rob and James has said. I've taken my 182 to Mark's since i've owned it and probably wouldn't let anyone else work on it as his service and workshop is one of the best places i've ever seen, his done the last 3 services and little bits that i needed doing to a very high quality. And the drive after is a little scary but you can tell he knows the cars limits.

Just a note he can be hard to get hold of sometimes but as long as you keep trying you should be able to get hold of him.

Not been there in a while has he still got the 3 mini's he was raceing last year?

Hey Colin!
Yeah, He had 3 minis sitting there. They look the buisness! He had all sorts of cars sitting there incuding a Renault 5 GT which was in showroom condition. I think the guy must be restoring and then keeping it its in perfect condition.
