5 GT Turbo Mark Fish Cup Car " Yellow"

Clarkey

Well-Known Member
On deciding to buy a trackday/race car in 2007, I came across an ex Mark Fish cup car and thought it was the ideal beginners car.
I viewed the car and was impressed on the condition although didn't know anything about cars so asked around and was told "keep away" from the 5.
I spoke to Mark Fish and decided it WAS the car me.
The car was reshelled in 2000, as you can see the original shell took a big hit.

Neil McGrath 4 time champion drove the car for Autosport news just before the reunion race in 2004.

The car was then raced by Barrie "whizzo" Williams at Thruxton and taking 3rd place. Starting on the fourth row.

awesome work, how much action has it had since you got it? how does it fair in your class?

Bought the car May 2007 and starting racing September same year.
We have raced the car since then with upgrades throughout making it a very competitive car in class.
Too quick in some cases as not allowed to race with some clubs in current form.

No Steve, couldn't get anything under the steels. Although when I changed to a EBC grooved disc and DS2500 pads worked ok.
We run the 13" compomotives, 260mm disc , DS2500 pads in the 4 pots. Work very well.

Steve, you've felt the brakes in the Quinn, when you get the o.e setup right, with decent pads they are more than up to the job of stopping you :)

No idea why they are like that ?! , all ive done is rebuild the calipers, new disks, fresh fluid, a good EZ bleed, and carbon lorainnes....Someones fitted braided lines in the past ( Maybe the Quinn himself!!)

I think the secret is, yours just has no "Dead Travel" for the first few MM push of the brake pedal, they feel VERY good. You did suggest once that perhaps it was the fixed load valve with minimal fluid going to the rear?

Carbon Lorraine pads are the daddies! Make sure you clean the car down after use though
