Looking for a V with shared engine

Hi guy as title says, I'm looking for a V that has got a blown engine, so I can do an engine transplant ,

Anyone one where there might be one covered up somewhere , cheers guy's

Heavily doubt you will find one with an engine gone sh1t street. They are bloody reliable at the end of the day. One with a gearbox failure is a good possibility.
What's your plans then?

As brett says, these are solid 'sales rep' engines that'll see 200k mileage without too much problem and you can't 'up the power' enough to start really stressing it without the gearbox letting go first.
Unless you're really lucky in your search, your best bet is probably to find a CAT C that's been well repaired.

Didn't realise the engines where good for that kind of miles, as you never seem to see any with high miles, I was hoping for a cam belt failure or something like , or would if I could find a damaged one if cheap enough ,

Think you`ll be exceptionally lucky to find one. Theres a long list of people who`d love to buy similar!

Good luck tho!

I think there's a 'thread' on here somewhere that discusses cam belt failures and there are only one or two that know of it actually happening, although the myth is that it's common. You could be lucky.

what about Spikes damaged car? or did that get sold?

Is this the damaged one at Scott's for a while? If so that's gone to someone who was using the rest of it for spares on their Clio V6 rally car

That had gone past the point of return though with the stuff missing when I saw it

not 100 % but don't want to pull mine to bits, the through s are a golf R engine with twin turbo's but I not that's only a 2ltr lump but not sure yet, was gold r32 engine don't thing the R engine is better tune-able

Hummmmm......twin turbo 2ltr tfsi engine? Now that's a strange one. They are all single as far as I know. R32 lump is hugely tunable. However both these engine would be a nightmare to mount tranversely as the engine mount are miles away from the oem reno ones. Good luck with it though, I'm sure it'll be great.

Do's anyone have any info on the Phase 1 Iliard blue on e-bay.No build number, previously damaged !!!
Looks good but has it been repaired properly, any info much appreciated.
Its on the Suffolk / Norfolk border.
Sold mine 2 years ago but want to return to a V6.
Bought a M3 and have done 2K miles in it in 2 years, think a V6 will be less likely to lose me money as a toy !

There's a whole thread on it here in 'V6's for sale' section.
I'd advise you visit the shop section and pay your £10 annual fee for membership (and full archive access).
You're not wrong about minimising depreciation costs - but purchasing the correct vehicle will undoubtedly help reduce running costs too.
Good luck with the hunt! : )

Hi Williams , I wish I was a young spud once again , I just want to do something different,

When they first came out I was just finishing a Re-shell job on a 172 first gen and couldn't stop thinking to my self one day ill get one a V6 one day as I kept having a sneaky look under the unavailing shekel covering the new V6 [smilie=yay.gif] , and thought god they must be fast, but I just don't think they are as fast as they look if any of you's no what I mean and thing the same, so I just want to do something totally different andbmakebthe car go as fast as it should, I no this way I will keep one, as I'm very bad for getting bored of my cars fast, and a turbo seems the way to go or a big lump in thERe some how, looked at a m3 V8 putting in but not sure if it would go. I'm not sure what to do, but need to find one laying around somewhere for the right money to make it worth doing, I have a bmw M3 as well and also looked at a V10 conversion . But there's no chance of that now

Keep putting a few ideas my way , I'm not stuck on a turbo , just a fast v6 Clio

You've got more chance getting a PRV6 with a 26.6 gW flux capacitor working than any V8. You need to think of space more than anything. A v8 will need to sit facing up the car and use a transaxle gearbox. The vee has 15-16 inches from the diveshaft center line to the very front of the engine bay. Great but how many v8s are that short by the time the belts and covers are all on and you've took the bellhousing into consideration?? You really need to consider the gearbox as much as the engine as its a package. You mentioned the golf R engine. That won't be able to use the original 'box as its 4wd. A shirocco type would be better. The M3 lump will obviously need adaptors to fit a transaxle of some kind. The latest Audi types would be best for this as the driveshafts go through the clutch and flywheel housing. Problem is they stick 3ft out the back of the car. An R8 box won't work as the driveshafts are no where near inline and would place any engine in between the driver and passenger seat. Picking random engines from the sky won't get you anywhere fast. You need something nice and compact so it fits the car. Not a car that fits the engine. Keep at it, there are one or two crackers that will go in nicely.

That's what throu the V8 out the window and on the other hand this is why I looked at the golf R engine and putting an extra turbo on it , a lot of things where learnt from reading your post and threads

Just been ripped off for just over £12 k from a customer may end up putting this on hold and may even have to sell the M3 or the v6 , one or the other is going to have to be sold now. As after a visit to see a back specialist last night I now no I need a second pop on my back or ill be spending the rest of my life sitting down with out the option of getting up when ever I want , this don't get much more shit than this , all within a week . A little fcuked off at the minuet

Pay a debt collector to get ya £12k back as long as you can prove the deal . Even if you pay them 2k , better to get 10 Back than £0
