We know that phase ones were made by TWR in Uddevalla, Sweden & we know that phase twos were made by Renaultsport at the Alpine factory in Dieppe, France.
There are rumours of some cross over cars that were started in Sweden, then taken over to Dieppe and finished off by Renaultsport, this may explain why some of the later phase ones had phase two gearboxes and subframes.
I have just been reading a post on v6passion where it appears that you can easily identify where you car was built.
There is a manufacture number on the sticker on the inside of your door. The manufacture number or 'N° de fabrication' in French can be found as indicated in the below image:
The letter which prefixes this number will be either 'K' or 'H'.
'H' means that the car was made by TWR at the Uddevalla plant.
'K' means that it was made at the Alpine factory in France.
Ive not tested this 100%, but have just checked a phase one and phase two and both were as expected.
A little pointless really, but nice to know. :approve:
