Load Index...

I assume when using any other tyres on a MK1 other than the recomended Michelin Pilot SP1s you need to match the load index's?

Anyone know what thse are for the Michelins/standard setup?

In the handbook it says 1.4bar for the fronts and 2.1bar fot the rears, but if you change to Toyo T1-S or T1-Rs for example, should you still run the recomended tyre pressures?

If not how do you know what pressures to run, if Renault strongly recommends the Michelins which where developed specifically for the car.

The lopad index for the tyres would also worry me....

What about load indexing shoudl they not match? What were the laodings on the SP1s for the MK1 originally? I assume you would need to ensure that these are the same with another tyre brand? I've heard scary stories with dodgy handlong on other cars that haven't used the correct tyre loadings that came out of the factory?

Can't advise on the specifics of load indexes I'm afraid. Can only say that I never had issues with tyre wear / handling etc.
