I have decided that as my Mars Ph1 sale hasn’t generated too much interest that I will have a go at selling the Liquid Yellow Ph2 instead. I probably won't be advertising it widely for a couple of weeks, but thought I'd get the ball rolling by testing the water on here.
The car is in stunning original condition, is totally reliable and needs nothing doing. It has done 20k miles, has never had a bump and has all it's original paint. Whilst it had a couple of bolt-on modification when nearly new, all original parts were retained so that the car can be put back to completely original factory specification if required.
I bought the car from the first owner in September 2014 with 18200 miles on the clock. The car was in near new condition having been rarely used in the rain, and never in the winter. It was always garaged, in a cosy garage attached to his house…and it was carpeted!
I have driven the car sparingly since buying it, and it has just gone over the 20k mark, and I have also always kept it in a de-humidified garage and not driven it in the winter, and very rarely in the rain.
The car is in remarkable condition as you would expect, and has never had any bumps or paintwork. There are a couple of very small stone chips on the lower edge of the bumper, but that’s it.
The car has been looked after by Scott at SG since I’ve had it. In June 2017 it had the big cam-belt service, and that included having a new clutch, clutch slave and starter motor. It also had a new set of Michelin Pilots at the same time.
The car has been totally reliable from new, and with a good detail would be an instant show car! Scott rates it very highly, and one of the very best LY cars left, even including some of the ultra-low miles cars.
The previous owner did some bolt-on mods to the car, and kept all the original bits which come with the car. He fitted a pair of Recaro Tredlines when the car was quite young, and of course kept the original seats. The originals are still in as-new condition, as is the rest of the interior.
He also fitted a straight-though full Janspeed system. Scott changed that for the original one last year, and that was absolutely complete and went back on a treat. The car still has an induction kit (which I’ve kept on as it sounds superb!) and larger custom-made discs and of course the Tredlines. As said, the original airbox, discs and seats come with the car. It also had a pair of clip-in Sabelt 4 point seatbelts, which I have taken out (but they can be put back in in 5 minutes).
The car comes with all its original documentation in the original wallet, along with both keys. Of course it also comes with its service history.
I don’t think there are many, if any, better, more original and thoroughly sorted Liquid Yellow Vees left now, and it will be a long time before another remotely comparable car comes on the market. I have discussed the value of the car with Scott and with Duncan, and based on their thoughts I’m looking for offers around £50k.
I nearly forgot….it’s the fifth from last Vee ever made.
PM me if you want to have a natter about the car. I’m in Gloucester (GL19) and the car will be on the road from the beginning of March (currently SORN’d).
