Liquid Yellow number 321 back when new

my old company car the week before I handed it back we were supposed to hand them back at 12,000 miles or 1 year but production had ended so they got this back with 19,000 on when the fleet manager asked why i was still running a 55 plate V6 in 2007.......

Ha it took more than a wrestle i think he kept asking me for 6 months why I hadn't ordered a new car yet and i kept saying it was on my list of things to do.....at the very bottom obviously.

It is an intriguing colour the Lunar grey. One was ordered to be the motorshow stand car when the i.d. colours came out i remember. People generally liked it a lot because of its "stealth" qualities . subtle but packing a big punch. I think it is why so many Aston V8 Vantages are in dark grey. The problem was getting a dealer to order one for stock so that people could see it. It was safer just to get a blue or silver one which they knew they could sell.
For press cars i wasn't looking for subtle. i wanted to make a picture editor jump up and say there is the cover shot. hence Liquid Yellow or Illiad blue for the early ph2 cars.
I did commission a full photo shoot of all the id colour Clios we had in the country at the time of the motorshow and I'm sure youve seen the group shot that was issued with the Press release as it had a Lunar grey and acid yellow Vee and three 182's. Individual shots were done too I'm sure but i dont think they were released. the photographer may still have some though so I will check.

IIRC Renault don't have any more illiad paint as they used soo much of it on all the thousands of illiad vees they sold...

IIRC Renault don't have any more illiad paint as they used soo much of it on all the thousands of illiad vees they sold...

FLOL! Or alternatively, they chose a flag ship colour for the vee...and that colour was Illiad Blue; simply the best/only colour worth having!

I thought Illiad was an Avantime colour (ie non RS)...

They must be running low on LY too as they seem to have used it on ever RS since the Vee
