Is anyone else going to Le Mans Classic next year 9-10-11 July 2010? http://www.lemansclassic.com/2008/UK/index.html
I have been to the last 2 (2006 & 200
& they are a great weekend. The Alpine club have a parking area & stand (don't know if Phildini has more info on this?).
The site still reflects the 2008 event (with great French efficiency it will be updated this year sometime).
Cars in the club parking have to be pre 1966 or the happy few http://www.lemansclassic.com/2008/UK/cl ... eptes.html so that includes 8 & 12 Gordinis & all Alpines. The 5 Gordini & Turbo must count somehow!
There were a few 5 Alpine Turbos in there last time & as a club they got to do a parade lap.
There are a group of us planning the trip from the Worcestershire & Warwickshire area via Portsmouth - Le Havre, & last time the docks at Portsmouth looked like a motor museum outing. Our group will hopefully include my Gordini, an MGBGTV8, a Lotus or 2, a Porsche & a tow rope!
Have a look & if anyone is going, post a reply, forming a loose convoy of R5s & Alpines could be interesting.
Last time I tucked in behind the Triumph TR convoy, they seemed to know where they were going & overtaking the group in the Freelander seemed "dashed bad form"!
