KW Coilovers Ordered!

Tbh i'd need to have a look at mine again. I always thought it was just the fronts that had camber adjustment.

Pretty impossible to check by just looking though.

All fitted and seem fine. K-Tec were great, so thanks to them.
They did say that my rear camber issue would never have been improved with the standard set-up, so hopefully I'll get more out of my rubber!
Not a huge difference to way the car drives but then again I haven't really thrown it around yet but so far so good. Tried to push it in the Lakes but that Irish bloke on that chocolate Vee was in my way

Love you James :race:

Saw you squirming all over the place struggling for grip and road holding, so I took things easy for you. [smilie=yay.gif]

How were they to fit Woody?

K-Tec didn't seem to have any trouble at all. However, to enable everything to be set up, i.e. Camber & Toe, they unfortunately sheared the rear nearside track control rod! It was unavoidable and they were given a 7-10 day lead time on a replacement from France! K-Tec, with my permission, had the old rod drilled and tapped to accommodate an M14 x 100mm threaded bar. It was thread-locked and welded in position, cut to length and Track Rod End fitted, job done. Hat off to K-Tec

I would of prefered a new part tbh...but heyho!

Only tough bit to get off it the drop links?! They were seized solid on mine!

It's better than new and waiting at least 7 days wasn't an option just before the Lakes meet!

True, these things always come at the wrong time. Have you lowered the car at all, or kept it largely at the same ride height?

They set it at the same height, as speed humps were bad enough before!

Got a set on the way for my car, after working in top level motorsports for several years and knowing what one off parts cost I was shocked at renaults price for standard rear dampers, ESP as they are very poor quality, I could have had a set of 4 ohlins made to measure for less than 2 rear Renault ones....... But time is of the essence so decided to go down the kw route. Will sort the geometry with what I think should be a good set up and then drop it on the scales and get the corner weights right. Should all be a big help

Out of interest what were you quoted for a set of Ohlins? I took another car of mine into an Ohlins specialst near me the other week and he has a Ph1 Clio V6. He had priced up a full set of Ohlins for his car (at cost to him) it was gonna be near to £6k and that was using Bilstein Casings!... apparently the Ohlins cases alone are over £1200 each!

I think I may go down the KW route at some point based on this, I cant justify spending that much on suspension.

That's very strong money for ohlins, that's the kind of area you could get xtc or Reiger dampers made for, even as a one off, ohlins would come in around £3000 area, which is only fractionally above Renault money and for a massively superior product, the ohlins would be outstanding on a circuit car you would only need xtc or Reiger on a gravel rally car, something that unless you name is Jean ragnotti is best to avoid in a V6....:-)

Mine ph1 run kw coilovers with ph2 subframes seems very planted although never driven a standard car! Is my handling alot better? (setup by kw)
