Just agreed to buy a phase 2 - a few bits needed...

Hi there, I've just agreed a deal on a BG Phase 2 (my second V6) - really nice car, one owner from new, fsh (Renault and specialist) 37k. It's been really well looked after, but needs a few bits to make it perfect, such as...

New steering wheel
Rear brake discs
Tool kit strap

Would the best place for these bits be 'Renault' or is there anywhere else I can go?

Thanks in advance...

You no longer have to go for Renault, if you want genuine discs Renault Parts Direct on here are cheaper I believe.

However you can now get rears of the right size from Apec, far cheaper than Renault.

A lot of us have changed the standard steering wheel (which wears badly) for the Clio 197 steering wheel and airbag. (Available from Renault Parts Direct for about £350) It depends if you want the car completely OEM. A replacement for the original will be very expensive I'm guessing. The other alternative is to have it professionally re-covered by a retrim specialist.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to order some discs and pads tomorrow, then the other parts from Renault (steering wheel - £700, ouch!)

Some nice retrims of steering wheels with real leather over on cliosport might be an option rather than the £700 for a new one [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

This is what I'd consider doing:

Either replace existing steering wheel with a 197/200 one (which are FAR nicer) or retrim original with leather (plus gear stick gator etc) as per 'Renaultsport Clio V6 255' ID touch pack. Nice little project to do accurately methinks!

Both options are far nicer (and cheaper!) than £700.

Car got delivered today, and I have to say its looking pretty damn good! - all parts ordered with the exception of the steering wheel, which I think I will get retrimmed as suggested... Thanks for the advise!

Did you get a tool strap kit? If so how much and I guess it was from RPD?

Yes, ordered them from RPD - £23.00 ish...

Thanks mate. A bit pricey as ever and its a close run thing but I may just buy a quaife differential and kw coilovers instead.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the dark side ;)
