Going for the first week of the TT, Taking the Vee, Any one from the Island on here !! ..Not done it before any tips would be good !!. [smilie=thanks.gif]

No tips but I'm highly envious!!

I'm not even a bike guy but I'm glued to the coverage on TV each year watching those crazy nutters!! Lol

I am trying my best to go this year I've bin saying for years that I am going to go but this year looks like its all going to plan I really want to go on the bike or in the vee but it looks like I am going to have to go in the landy;(

NIce one fella.... not jealous at all... bloody shut down time at work.... again, so no holidays allowed [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

Have a great time, got a few mates that go every year, afraid I cant offer any advice.... just to enjoy :-) :approve:

If u planning on camping there's a free one in between sulby straight and ginger hall pub , if you turn opposite the sulby pub down past shop and school it's signed as sulby glen.. You can watch from sulby straight, hinder hall and get upto museum in mountain all without crossing track ... Not that I've been many times ;-)) Not so good as it was in late 80, early 90s with 2 strokes and big 750 tz sidecar outfits , fantastic noise and way better than modern 4s for entertainment.. It's a great week wherever you go on island..

Thanks Lain , We have Rented a house, To old now for camping lol. [smilie=thanks.gif]

I was there a couple of times in the mid 80s (Joey Dunlop thrashed everyone those years).
A crowd of us went. 5 on bikes and a van with 4 plus 4 trail bikes.
I'm sure the roads are much busier now and really doubt you'll have more fun in the Vee than in the Landy.
The place is so packed with bikes and people that there's little fun to be had on 4 wheels.

It's now fully tamed down, you used to be able to go flat round most of the mountain etc, but not for a few years as they made it 1 way and coned off lane :-(. Got 160 on a TZ 375 Yamaha down the creg one time and a racer on a duke that was practising on the actual race bike came past like we were going backwards... I used to love the place but spoilt by time. Still a wicked weeks holiday though. Just spoilt by memories of old for me. Going next year with mates who have monkey bikes. Should be a giggle.

Ive been once to Isle of Man, but not for the TT, it was in the off-season and my god the place was like some ghost town. Deserted. It seems the whole place only comes alive for those few weeks in June for the TT! As a long time biker ive always wanted to go and a lot of my mates used to, maybe one day!

Been a few times myself. If going in the car you might as well leave it on the boat :) atmosphere brilliant. Bike riding on mad sunday crazy.

Just had two fantastic days on the course,Brilliant weather, And not to busy, At 6am the Mountain is all yours. If i could post photos !!!!! I would lol, Will keep trying,
