Started the car this morning and the idle sounds like it isn't running on all cylinders...

The emissions warning light has also come on...

Is this yet another coil's issue?

Well I've given the AA a call - they are on their way.

Having just spent the last 30 minutes reading posts, I'm fairly confident that it will be diagnosed as a broken coil. I just hope that Renault are able to fix it today.

In the meantime, I guess I will just have to put my feet up in front of the TV and be thankful that I'm not at work.... there is always a postive side ^^

Sit back and enjoy the day then.

Renault should have one in stock.

Once you know the correct one should not take long to fix.

It will be woth getting onto Customer Service and ask about replacement under warranty if you are not covered.

Problem diagnosed as No.6 coil.

Renault pulled their normal crap and wouldn't give the AA guy a replacement under warranty. Instead they wanted me to be car-less for a week whilst they booked me in for a visit.

The brilliant AA guy went well beyond the call of duty, drove me to Renault, I bought the coil on my credit card, he then drove me back to my car and fitted it. Problem solved and I am back on the road.

Now, I just need to see if Renualt will do me a refund....

Great service from the AA guy. How did he diagnose which coil had gone? Disconection method? Bet he didnt realise what he was in for when he got the call to visit a Clio!

Yes, he just disconnected the coils that he could see and immediately heard that one of them wasn't sparking. Thankfully it was an easy coil to reach.

He had assumed it was a normal Renault - the V6 was a bit of a shock.

He has only ever responded to one V6 before (a reported flat tyre). When he arrived, he found the owner desperately hunting for the spare!

Get onto Customer Service and get your money back.

They have assured us that it was only a small batch.

I will not go into more details at the moment but you have other recourses which will cost them more money and bad publicity.

PM me if required.

At least you are back up and running and the A.A. gave service.
