been a couple of years since last time we saw this one. would love to see it returned to standard spec. :approve:

Where do I start?
Love this car so much its killing me to write this to sell it but a change in living arrangements is forcing me to sell her.

As far as I'm aware she is the last of 2 blue mark 1's in the country and the last contact I had with the owner of the other one it was going to Germany, this could be the last blue mark 1 in this country.
I've just had the wheels redone so they look new again and the tires were new last year and have only done about 2000 miles on them.
Rear windows have been professionally tinted.
The car is very low mileage at under 17000k on the clock.
Its in fantastic condition it really is and its been a pleasure to drive which has only been done in the dry, so all the miles I've done in the 2 plus years have been dry miles.
It has 12 months MOT and for the right price the 9 months tax will be left on.
I've had the car for over 2 years now and in the first year I had a fair bit of work done to it.
It includes new cam belt.
coil packs
water pump
AUX belt
new sports clutch
High performance brake pads
professionally fitted induction kit
Fully serviced with high grade 5/40 fully syn. oil
Its had the whole engine dropped out to do all this work and while the engine was out a lot of things were stripped and refitted in a professional garage.
All this work cost over 3.5k and I've had bits done in between to keep her mint.

I have all the service history and loads of paper work for all the work done.
I've had checks done on the car before I took ownership and everything was good and I still have all documents on it.
Its got a private plate costing £995 and if I get the price I want id let this plate go with the car, I've also had a customised cover made for it which is a perfect fit which cost £300 and this will also go with the car if the correct price is agreed.

The car was CAT D'd Before I owned it but this was only panel damage which all work done is recorded and I have all paper work for it from previous owner.
I'm only second owner of the car but as the car was owned by the insurance company for a short time when the original owner re perchance the car it made him 3rd owner so therefore on paper I'm 4th, if you follow...

What happened is he left the car packed on a hill and as most people know with these cars if you leave the hand brake on as the discs cool down the handbrake becomes slack, this happened and the car travelled hitting a few things on the way damaging most the panels and being fibre glass body kit the insurance company thought it needed to be wrote off as the panel damage came to 10k plus.
But like I say I have all paper work done on the car and as you can also see the car is priced with this in mind with a few thousand shaved off the car price. If wasn't CAT d it would be up for £12995 and even that is cheaper then some I've seen and most of them are the more common silver model.

I've been as honest as I can possible be but any questions please call.. I'm really only interested in serious people and don't want any P/X ..

Call Aaron on 07879405687 for a chat about the car..

Would cost peanuts to put back to standard...

1. Mk1 blue pods
2. Mk1 oem lights
3. Exhaust

Job done

Yes I like that, I always wanted a Ph2, but if this or a mars Ph1 was for sale I would be very tempted.

Do 'we' know about the damage?

Good find Duncan :approve:

"If it wasn't cat d it'd be up for £12995"

I would grab his hand and snap it off at the elbow at that price for a non cat car. THE vee in my opinion.

+ oem rear bumper mesh, remove window tints, repaint the panel behind the front bumper back to black, OEM head unit, replace missing cigarette lighter, maybe repaint calipers.....IMO the blues are so rare its important to keep them as close to standard as possible.

It would look fantastic then though, and sounds like the current owner has spent alot of money on the important stuff in his ownership.

Only what the previous owner said, which ties up exactly with whats written in that advert (albeit more detail is given now). Sounds pretty genuine to me and if it looks like a good repair (it certainly does in the pictures), then its a great price for the car.

id agree with £12995 if non cat repaired too. :approve:

Very tempting, out of interest is this the last blue phase one as suggested?

I remember a chap saying he'd been offered one with a wheel off in his introduction thread, not sure what actually came of this

Just seen this on ph I was hoping I would have bin the first to see it and put a link up. But I've bin beaten to it once again;(

How much would it have bin worth with out the cat d?

Seller seems to think £12,995...

I know the seller seams to think that. But I was meaning what do the forum think? I think it would have bin worth a little more than that if it was a non cat car and even more if oem.

As far as I'm aware, out of the original 8, one has been exported and one was a total loss. Should be 6 left in the UK. May of course be less! But I'm pretty confident that there is at least 4 or 5 left (including this one).

The last non written off illiad ph1 sold for approx 11k with 15k miles on the clock. Sadly this is the car that is now a total loss.

I'd say 12-14k given the desirability and rareness for a straight illiad phase one in top condition.

I was gutted to see an illiad up for this money while I am in no position to sell my mini. However I was relieved to see its a cat d. As mush as a I really really REALLY want an illiad ph1, I'm starting to think there's a bit of a curse on them. Lol What percentage have been wrote off?

Cat d doesn't make any difference when insuring

Careful here. It can do to certain Insurance companies as an insurance contract isn't based on "buyer beware" it's based on "utmost good faith". In other words anything that an underwriter would deem relevant to the risk should be disclosed by the insured. Non disclosure of CAT registered status could be a reason for an Insurance company to decline the claim and/or avoid the policy.

There aren't CAT D tick boxes on the comparison sites, but that doesn't mean you don't need to tell the insurance company. Some insurance companies don't insure CAT D cars, some increase the premium and some note it down but don't increase the premium. Pay-outs on CAT registered cars written off again are typically lower than on non CAT cars as well.

Not necessarily a problem, but go in with your eyes open.

Me too Brett!!

Could flip a quick buck here though. £9k purchase. £19k sale on the continent. £10k profit. Cat D is meanigless over there and as long as repairs are all prim and proper a European could save huge amounts of money over a LHD Illiad ph1.
