Yes the clio has had a bump ( hence the price )
The accident happened about 6 years ago, when I left the hand brake off and it rolled into a parked car. There wasn't that much damage ( front spoiler, bonnet , off side wing, head & spot lights) when the insurance assessor inspected the car he could not open the bonnet to check the extent of the damage ! so he put it down as a cat "C"
I bought the clio back off insurance company £10000 and spent £6800 putting the back on the road, I used all original Renault parts, the front spoiler was £2000 alone. I have all original receipts for the work carried out .
It still is a cracking sports car for the price !!
could have mates in the trade who got the parts or did some of the work at mates rates - £7k could easily be nearer £10k when using renault labour rates and parts or a top end specialist repairer.
don't forget insurance accessors will work on worst cases for repairs, whereas when you start the work some of what they thought might have needed repairing doesn't = saving in the original figures.
