Hello my name is Javier, i am from México, i bought the car 3 months ago, I almost don´t used the car, the car has only 9500 km. In México Renault did not sold this car, so all the cars has to be imported from europe.

Please, give me some advise

Hello Javier

Looks like a great example you've got yourself!

We're here to give you any advice (or help sourcing parts) should you need it.
My only concern for you would be finding a technical expert for the cambelt service (or any other 'engine out' procedures) in Mexico.

Otherwise - enjoy! I bet it gets a lot of attention! : )

Welcome Javier, that car looks in perfect condition!

I can see it has an orbisoud exhaust, very nice.

Please do ask if you have any questions. :welcome:

Doesn't look like an orbisoud Duncan...?

Welcome javier :approve:

Howdy Javier ... and welcome to v6clio.net :approve:™

Always great to see Vees from around the world, especially in countries where they're extremely rare and hence even more special!

Lovely motor, phase 1's are so growing on me again!

But I would get rid of the "Williams" decal on the brake calipers ;)

My mistake, I'd believe you over me on this matter! Just looks like it to me, if a little larger.

Welcome, the Vee looks in tip top condition.

The register has only one (Illiad, Phase 2) as being in Mexico, so now needs to be updated.

Thanks Kett, I want to change the cambelt, because i dont know if the previous owner changed.

In México Renault sold the laguna v6, so is the same cambelt and water pump. Is that true?

Regards

Thanks Ddouble, I am the third owner.

The first one has the car for 10 years, the second just a couple of months and then he sold it to me.

The only changes that the first owner make to the car are the exhaust, the air filter and the calipers on yellow color, because the carbon fiber was an sticker an i removed.

The exhaust is Magnaflow, it´s too loud for a daily drive.

No, I don't think that's true.
The parts needed will be relatively easy to source though. The problem is the engine removal. This is taken from another section of this forum - to help consider the issue...

i doubt you'd be able to time the engine up correctly with it still in, i'd be VERY surprised if the timing was cock on! It takes us 4hours to remove the engine/box completley, but we have the special Renault cradle for the engine/box which makes things MUCH easier!

Its a bit of a pratt to time the engine up AND get the belt tension correct with it OUT of the car, sod even attempting it with the lump still in the car!
