So today I was drivin my 1.2 RL 1995 Clio and right after I pulled out from the car wash I noticed the battery light came on.
I stopped the car. I changed the battery and the alternator few months ago. I didn't change the belt. Of course. Being cheap pays off as we all know.
So I'm trying to figure why the battery light is on and my computer logic tells me - it's probably some water getting under some wires making the battery light go crazy.
:| I know...
Then, I start driving, and a minute after, a water temp light comes on. There's no water gauge on the dash. Again, my computer Windows restart shut down logic thinks "maybe this is another water vapor error".
So I drive for 2 minutes and pull over. I look under the hood, water level perfectly normal, everything seems ok. This further assures my car wash/ wire/water/lights theory.
After driving for another 2 minutes, water temp gauge comes on again. So I drive for another 2 minutes to the nearest parking lot and stop. I go get some groceries as I intended to, and before starting the car, I pop the hood to see if there's a cable loose. Because, as we all know, loose cables lead to water temp lights.
And I see the water tank almost full with water. WTF. I slowly open it, and it surges slowly to the normal levels. So I'm getting pissed thinking how I didn't stop and the engine boiled up.
And then...I look across the engine bay and notice I have no alternator belt.

So, may I ask, just to comfort myself...is there a chance I didn't blow the head gasket?
I went to the nearest gas station but they didn't have any alternator belts...and it's sunday...so I'll do the shopping tomorrow. I hope I don't see no mayo tomorrow.
