Hi All,

Where is recommended to purchase x2 hubcentric 20mm spacers with x10 longer bolts? The time is approaching to put my phase 2 wheels on my phase 1! 8)

No need, i didnt order any. I got that confused with all the conflicting info i got i put it to the back of my to do list.

Of course if anyone wants to give the definitive answer to this request i will go and order

10mm at the back
5mm front
relevant bolts

links to all the above please

:approve:

I have just put ph2 wheel on my ph1.

No spacers on the front and 225/40/18s

20mm on the rear with 245/35/18s

Looks perfect, will get some pics up later today , feel free to message me if you want the order details for the spacer and bolt kit.

Company I got the spacer and bolt kit from is - MAPS Ltd

01795 427335 or 07734 408515

He is very helpful and will give you a listing number on ebay so you get the right ones. Just worth checking
the size of the bolts on your car now as my kit came with M14 bolts and car is M12, apparently there is two options, although he did send the new bolts overnight.

Just a few pics so you can see how the spacers look on the car :)

Cheers mate, super sexy example you got there! 8)

I was goiong to go for 205/40/18 and 245/40/18 tyres. Is that a no no would you say when putting these wheels on?

Thanks :) I've just had the interior retrimmed as well, hoping to get some proper pics done soon .

My understanding is that a 35 profile on the rear gives the same sidewall height as the 40 on the front as the rears are wider and the 35 profile is relative to the width of the tyre.

Or something like that ....

It would be nice to see those pics of what you've done :approve:

I was thinking the 40mm profile on the rear as the weight on the rear is far greater than the front but obviously I duna want it to rub and my KW's are lowering the back end 10mm from standard ride height. Is your suspension standard? Is the 225mm width front tyre better to have than a 205mm on the front then, and is there any rubbage?

The rears have plenty of space with 35 profiles on, and I think even with your coil overs lowering yours 10mm it will be fine.

Personally I think the sidewall on a 245/40/18 looks too big thats why I prefer the 35, not sure how weight would come into the equasion but I'm no expert. I was recommended the tyre sizes by Simon (Bill Patchell) and he has a vast knowledge of these Ph1 so
I tend to follow his advice.

225 can rub a little on full lock when reversing, but not a great deal.

Good luck :approve:
