check the heat of the pipes connected to the front radiator. If the thermostat is stuck closed then the top pipe should take ages to warm up in comparison to what the dial is reading.
they came on after ticking over 4 about 10 min then i took it out 4 about 10min then they wasnt working so i took it around the block again then they came on! the engine was quit hot but the gage was reading very low! :s the side pod fans aint kicking in at all, would this happen if the thermostat was not working?
if the engine temp gauge doesn't reach mid position after 5 mins or so of driving or a few miles, then most likely stat is stuck open - quite common on vees ... Check out the knowledge base for an article on removing and replacing it ... Problem tends to be not the stat but a sealing washer which becomes dislodged - this is usually all thats needed ...
Thermostat and seal replaced today and temp gauge back to the half way point. Followed your article in the knowledge base, spot on, only difference i left the water hoses on, could see they would be a handful to remove, thanks k1ano :approve:
