How Many Plugs do Xenons Have???

Finally got some Xenons to replace the Renault Halogens in my Ph2 (I know, Don't ask [smilie=icon_exclaim.gif] ).

Just looking at the new Xenons, there appear to be two plug sockets on each lamp. However, the Halogens currently in the car only appear to have one cable with one plug on the end of it.

How many plugs plug into your lights? Can anyone help?

I'm just hoping someone's not going to tell me there should be a separate cable and plug for the automatic levelling :rollseyes:

Reading the manual it says Xenons don't have auto levelling.

XENON LAMPS
General information

These bulbs do not contain a filament. The light from
the bulbs is generated by two electrodes in a quartz
bulb which contains the high pressure gas xenon.
The electronic module, or ballast, incorporated into the
headlight is supplied by the vehicle's battery (12 V)
and generates a controlled voltage of 20,000 V when
the light is switched on, then an alternating voltage of
85 V during operation.
DESCRIPTION
The system consists of:

two headlight units fitted with a conventional side
light bulb,

a main beam headlight bulb, type H7 55W,

a dipped beam headlight xenon bulb, type D2S,

a direction indicator bulb, type PY 21W,

two electronic units (Ballasts) integral with the
headlights (A) (one per headlight),

two high voltage units ( to which the bulbs are
attached,

These vehicles have no automatic headlight height
adjustment system.

on the 182 there is a adjuster fitted to the rear axle - as you add weight in the back it'll obviously bring the beam back down so you're not lighting the sky... in a Vee i would imagine it isn't needed as the weight in the rear remains unchanged...

I did have a look at the manual before posting. If you have a look at page 80C-2, there is a letter D and lines pointing to the "adjustment actuators".

On the bottom of that little unit there is a socket for a three pin plug and cable to be connected.

The actual main cable for the lamp unit plugs in to the socket just to the left of this on the diagram, just under the side light pod.

So my question was/is do you on your V6 that already has Xenons fitted, have two cables or one plugged into your lights.

You will have one plugged into the main socket just under the side light pod.....BUT do you also have anything plugged into this socket on the bottom of the "adjustment actuator" in the diagram?

Just trying to find out if in order to fit the Halogens to my repaired car, someones done a hatchet job to the lighting loom and has cut off any second cable.
