Greasy mark on paint

New Member
After washing the Vee on Sunday my mate pointed out what looks to be like a greasy finger print and smudge on the paint. He said he has got the same greasy looking marks on his Renault Scenic. I was sure a good old rub with soap and Tcut would remove it but it didn't. When i went out after the bright sun had stopped shining on the car it couldn't be seen. There is no evidence of any damage to the lacquer and all the paint is smooth and shiny. Anyone had the same problem and know had to get rid of this mark?

hi mate, i had the same sort of problem on my cosworth what i did was purchase a realy good wax and degreaser and used that, it worked for me, what i do now with all our vehicles is to give them a de waxing every year, i found we keep waxing the cars and you have a build up of wax on the car so by dewaxing the car you can start again waxing the paint on the car not waxing on top of wax, most of my cars are black or have been black and will cut down on smear marks, i must stress this works for me it may not do the same for you.

Thanks Martin. Its odd because when not in bright sunlight you can't see anything and looking at it side on the paint is mirror smooth and not bubbled in any way at all!! Do you think the degreaser will work where TCut doesn't? Cheers mate.
