Grand scenic suitable donor for 225 lump?

So does anyone know if the renault scenic grand version shares the same chassis / underpinning of the megane 225

I know they did a 2.0 t lesser version

Well you see where this could go as a more interesting daily and need for the space so a consideration versus what comes out the tin

Any advice welcomed to what parts are interchangeable etc etc

I believe it's a detuned version, I think @Brigsy has one in his stash.

Yes sure detunes one runs higher compression and tiny Tb. Not sure of cams and other internal differences

I was thinking a not 2.0t base but maybe a even easier swap. Not looking for anything crazy

Lsd and 300bhp along with mild chassis upgrades and brakes.....and tow bar

If it gets to expensive it would make more sense to go zafira vxr or 2.5t smax route

Just like to be different.......because I'm special lol

The detuned one was a 165 bhp one with different cams , TB and turbo IIRC.

What box is it mated to though ?

I have never looked at either car so far from best placed to say. Hence asking you lot

If box etc is different and loom most the way there then it seems to make more sense to get soec of car on whatever 1.6 and drop it in

Make an exhaust and parts bin for i/c etc

Apparantly the crank is different to a 225 lump too. Mine had an auto box on it so not sure if they even share a similar gearbox. I dont think it shares the same suspension setup as a meg, more a conventional mcpherson strut compared to the dual axis setup of the megane sport.

If a Scenic is based on a Megane, could you not "just" drop the whole subframe off a 225 complete with running gear and lob it in the Scenic?

Has to seat 5 full seats but having 7 a big help

Vauxhall the obvious choice but just not a massive fan of the inside layout compared to the other 7 seater options
