Hi, I dont know if its just Me, but been for a spin today and while going really slow over speed bumps in first gear, the gear box sounded quite noisy, like it was dry, or like brakes binding( if that makes sense) i'm sure I've heard it before but today it was quite noticeable, is this normal?

The gearbox does generally seem more vocal than many other cars. Probably 100% normal. Just a quirk of the v6.

I'll open up a thread on looking for another Vee and detailing to get more people involved next time, hopefully a bit of back slapping as well,

You need to 'buddy-up' with a matching Vee to compare and contrast. Gearbox noise is incumbent in Vees - but so is gearbox failure.... Realistically, it's impossible to advise.

I've recently junked the dual mass in my ph2 for the lightweight TTV and ph1 clutch, (along with a few others!), so it's a slightly lighter weight ph1 set up, and it's noticeably noisier than before, particularly obvious at low revs in 1st and 2nd. This seems to be the norm for what we've had done, and ph1 owners I know also report similar experience with their standard set up. However, like Kett says, if it's worrying, get together with a fellow ph1 owner and compare!.. Any excuse for a drive and meet!!

Sounds like how the standard ph1 set up is. I used to hate it as thought it sounded knackered, but they all do it.

yep, mine from day one sounded like some dreadful bearing about to fail In 1st and second going slowly and I figured I would sort it when it went bang completely, that was now 10 years ago but has never got any worse.
