gearbox removal.

Hi all hope you are all well.
Sorry if this has been covered but i need to ask ,,, How difficult is it to remove the gearbox and how would be the best way ?? Am i right in thinking the box could come away with out the removal of the engine ? I think i need to replace 3rd and 4th syncros as i am just not happy with the selection some times. I feel like it has to be nursed in as such so would like to sort it before it becomes a bigger issue. A local trans specialist have quoted a price all in and its quite a big figure. Also what type of clutch would people go for. I have no issues with the standard set up unless there is a more quality item availible. Thanks in advance

No more difficult than any other car and certainly doesn't require the engine to be removed. Took me and a friend a couple of hours to change one with the help of a few beers. Hardest part was bleeding the clutch but it took minutes once I got my hands on an easybleed. It was also done on axle stands, albeit large ones.
