Gauging interest: Brooklands Supercar Saturday, July 27th

I thought I would post this here to see if anyone would be interested in attending this event (which this year is on Saturday the 27th of July) like we did last year.

I know that it falls on a fairly busy weekend of club events with Matt having organised attending the Ashover Classic Car Show on the 28th, and it is also being arranged for the club to have a presence at the Silverstone Classic that weekend, though as I understand it, and please correct me if I am wrong that was again to be on the 28th only.

Last year 5 of us attended Brooklands Super Sunday event, and were allowed to display our cars, they received lots of interest throughout the day. The downside was that we were in a slightly out of the way location, but this I think was due to the lateness of the email I sent the organiser (I only found out about the event in the week or so before it was to be held) rather than being put out of the way because we were in Renault’s and not Ferrari’s etc. As I spoke to the organiser shortly before leaving and he was very complimentary about the cars.

So therefore this year IF there is enough interest and the events team are happy for me to do so, I am more than happy to try and organise our attendance and hopefully secure a better pitch for us.

For those that haven’t attended before here is a run down of what can usually be seen on the day:

- The whole of the Brooklands Museum is open as normal.

- There is the café inside the Museum itself and last year a BBQ was held outside.

- Mercedes-Benz World is just around the corner and free to enter, it’s test track also has Supercar displays several times throughout the day.

- I would say that in excess of 150 cars were on display last year, including some real rarities such as the Jaguar XJR-15, 2x Ferrari Enzo, a Maserati MC12, a Ferrari F50, several F40’s and dozens of others, Many of these also took to the test track for high speed laps.

- The notoriously steep Brooklands Test Hill was also open for people to try and tackle in the cars they were displaying should they wish.

YouTube has plenty of video's from last years event that was held on a Sunday instead:

More details and the entrance ticket prices can be found on the Brooklands website (you only pay on the gate, not in advance):

Anyway let me know what you think and I shall, with the Event teams permission go from there :).

Thanks for the heads up Will...

Haven't checked my diary but if I was free I would pop along.

Could be tempted by a bit of hill testing as well :race:
