Incredible speed, but dull as dishwater!

Ring record attempt by the Volkswagen ID.R: Track record Bilster Berg

Guess we had better make the best use of the time we have with the fossil-fuelled toys we have today...and thank goodness for the likes of the Toyota GR Yaris (WRC homologation special), which I am sure may well be the last of its kind.

Sounds like that Scalextric stuff people used to love years ago. It was apparently really exciting.
Too right James.....and as someone said "the sound of that thing is like an angry dentist's drill", which I thought was equally apt!

Don't think I could ever see myself buying an EV for fun...

I meant to visit the GR Yaris when it was visiting my local Toyota dealership. I probably need to drive it before considering a purchase:
• needs to look ok in the flesh
• suspension needs to be reasonably supple
• box needs to be snickerty
• needs to feel non-fidgety on motorway

Too much to ask?

Nope, but I think you will not be disappointed.

Check this review of a Euro-spec pre-production model being used as a course car at some of the European WRC events (English subtitles available): LINK

If you are really interested, check out this thread: Toyota GR Yaris - official!

I have seen the one that is doing the run at dealerships - dealer demos are expected in October, with first deliveries due in Dec/Jan.
