No major issues with it, had blacked out windows when i picked up and in need of cambelt service, a little cleanup and some paint on drivers sill where scuffed getting in out type of thing, drivers bolster a little scuffed, but I got an A1 replacement seat to go in should I ever sell. Need a blue dash top also as the clock pod bit has been scuffed, but again no big deal as same as 172 so cheap and fairly easy to come by.

Be about 10-12 hrs labour+ as a few other things need doing
£55/hr

Cambelt/ idlers etc
Ancillary Idlers etc
Clutch/ slave
Oil/filter
Water pump
Gearbox oil
Check over car

New requirement from initial request
Aircon pipes check for leaks
Drive shaft seal
And anything else found that needs attention to advise on.

Fred at BTM has finished car and will have back Tomorrow night.. Can't wait to drive it again
Will advise on what's been done and full costs as soon as I know.

I feel for you :( I was exactly the same as you ! When I got my v6 it was well over due on the cam belt - It had only done 9000 miles in 5 years but I drove it with total respect all the way home as in my head i was thinking that the belt was gonna go :( When I got home I found the receipt for SGM - was amazed he only up the road - I phoned him, the following day we had an hour conversation about it at his garage (amazed by the fantastic line up of 8 v6's) (on the 45 degree angle - as he does lol  ) I booked it in and with both our agreements everything that could go wrong that would need engine out was replaced !! Financial nouse I think its called ? Since then (last sept) I have enjoyed it beyond belief !! I am not a speed freek - I love the look of it - but when I do put my foot down (never past 5000 rpm) I get an adrenalin rush and a headache (I don't do adrenalin so I think it is a reaction ??) But what I am saying is the REASSURANCE that it gives you is priceless ! My advice to anyone is DO NOT pass the 5 year cam belt ! It just isn't worth it :(

good luck on the service-

Hopefully the A/C isn't leaking from the unit by the rear right drivers wheel as that's bloody expensive to fix...

Well should get it back tonight now due to waiting for exhaust clamp/coolant from renault, clamps are on back order according to renault parts direct, (5 days) Fred managed to get one though...

Will have had following work done
Fit cambelt kit
Ancillary belt kit
New clutch, slave cylinder
Replace water Pump
Driveshaft seal
2x exhaust clamps
Gearbox oil replaced
Engine oil replaced and filter
New plugs
Replace coolant
Think that's the lot !
And Fred dropping car off to me , nice touch as it saves me loads of hassle....

Been just over 2 weeks without car and the delays are due to waiting for genuine renault parts. And the fact Freds mechanic hurt his shoulder, so he's been doing things on his own.

Ok here goes

Cam belt kit
Ancillary belt kit
Eng oil/filter
Clutch and slave
Gearbox oil
Driveshaft seal
2x exhaust clamps
Spark plugs
Coolant
All replaced

I supplied cambelt/ aux belt/ plugs and oils
BTM SUpplied clutch / slave / oil filter/ ex clamps/ driveshaft seal / coolant

Total £959 inc vat..
Labour was 12 hrs £ 45+ vat
So not at all bad
And Fred did a bit of chasing to get clutch and ex clamps/ delivered car back to my home :-))

The beastie is gunna get a thrashing now !!!

IMO thats really good value Iain! nice one! enjoy, I bet it will drive extremely well after all that! nothing like a freshly serviced car IMO [smilie=yay.gif]

Very cheap, similar service at SG would be £1.7k by my reckoning...(But with respect, i would still prefer to take mine to Scott!)

When you say Ancillary Belt Kit do you mean Auxiliary Belt Kit, inc. rollers & tensioner?
