Hi!

Im going to change the fuel filter in my Ph1. I have the new filter, I know were the old one sists, above the fuel tank. But how do i get there? Does anybody have a guide or pictures, maybe a quick step by step guide on how to change it and what needs to be removed to get there?

Cant seem to find anything about this, dont the filter need to be changed so often or do everybody take there job to a local garage/renault to fix it for them?

Thanks,
Per

What bits? isnt it just 2 clamps and hoses? Do you have any pointers about what to think of and what tools you need?

Thanks,

Hopefully I will do this on sunday, than I can write here about how it went and what tools to use etc. So that others can learn, hopefully I can bring a camera.

Thanks,

Here some pic to help with the job of a fuel filter change.

you weill need a T20 torx bit to remove cover screws, there are hidden under the sound proofing which is stuck down, the no nice way of getting it off I used a flat paint scraper to get the main layer off, then dug about for the screws, this picture shows black squares were the screws are located, so you may only have to lift some of the sound proofing.

Get some spray glue to stick it all back down with.

with cover off you can not see filter its out of sight, look down and towards the front. you will see a grey handle that retais the filter on to the top of the tank.

Is there something required to prevent petrol from pouring out when the filter is changed? Perhaps the fuel pipes are already empty?

Thanks

As I have no engine in, I have no fuel or pressure in the line so its just a remove it job, otherwise you would need to bleed of the pressure in the fuel line off via the valve on the engine and have a container to to catch any excess fuel.

The picture of fuel filter was taken from empty engine bay.
