Front discs

In the V6 spec, it says 330mm discs for the front and 300mm for the rear. Does anyone know why Eurocarparts list the front discs at 310mm (made by Bosch) as well as a load of e-bay sellers??? :s

I have checked a French and German aftermarket parts web site, and they list the same 310mm disc as suitable for the Vee

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Renau ... rake-Discs

http://www.daparto.de/category-Renault- ... 0785qq1523

The Bosch part number is 0986 479 011

eastlmark might know about the sizes, he's recently been through various options and fitting.

Tech manual says:

FRONT BRAKES (in mm)

Disc diameter 330
Disc thickness 30
Minimum disc thickness 28

So these Bosch ones are already at the minimum thickness from new. If I've read that right.

All the aftermarket discs are wrong, even the Tarox ones. Seems Renault must have changed the spec just before production and all the aftermarket guys went with the wrong size.

330 x 30 front and 300 x 24 rear is correct.

I though this must be the case.

I have called Eurocarparts and they have checked their listing again and state that they are 310mm front and rear! They say there is no listing for a 330mm disc let alone a 300mm disc for the rear.

Look at how many are being sold on e-bay at 310mm - It pays to check!

Maybe its time to contact these companys as a collective club and inform them of the situation, Its the only way i can see this stopping...

It may take many attempts but surely as a club we could have an affect

Good point Looch, but you'd have to a lunatic to buy non OEM products without double checking the parameters first.
Thank heavens for V6clio.net too.

scientia potentia est

surely they should get the message when every set they sell is returned by an angry customer, I know I have been there! This has been going on for over a year now and we still ahve not found one aftermarket retailer that stocks the correct size.

So I'm looking at front discs for a Pug 407 coupe.

Part No: D1275
EBC Standard Brake Discs (Pair)

Solid or Vented : V :approve:
No of Holes/Bolts : 5 :approve:
Diameter (mm) : 330 :approve:
Thickness New/Min (mm) : 30/28 :approve:
Height (mm) : 48 ?

Would these fit our Vees?
What is the Height of our front discs?

Interesting James :approve:

No idea what the height is though?

Are you sure the PCD will be right? Are Peugeot 407's 5 x 108??

The PCD won't be correct but can very easily and safely be redrilled by a decent machine shop. If the offset of the disks are the same they will no doubt fit...

on this bombshell, whats happening with this group buy??

Here is a reply I received today from an internet supplier.

Some Early V6 Clios had 310mm discs all round.
The 330mm discs are very expensive. £650 This is because only one company makes them.

Let me know if you want them

Thanks

every owner with 310 brake discs say "me " now...............

silence

Silly question but anyone tried contacting bosch directly - they might be quite keen to know they are making discs that dont fit and correct their mistake?

I've phoned them before about oxy sensors to get the bosch part number and they seemed very helpful so might be worth a shot?

and another one. This place lists many suppliers like Brembo, EBC, etc

Dear James,

I am afraid that I only have the 310mm options listed, I cannot find any manufacturer that offers 330mm discs for your car.

Many Regrets

Any news on this, got quoted £898.98 this morning for front discs and pads from Renault [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Have got a quote of £585.67 from SG Motorsports, so a group buy would really help me out :)

Is there going to be a group buy or not as I'm going to go my own route other wise.????

I'm waiting for some feedback on discounts for bulk purchases.

It looks almost certain for a GB tho!

Keep the faith. ;)

Cool. Keep us posted mate as I think a few of us really are desperate. Mine won't be going for MOT until they are fitted so I'd hate to get some from EBC to find there will be a group buy happening just after lol
