Front discs from Apec

Got my feedback from the brake man today and it's encouraging news.

He said the APEC Clio V6 disks were as good a quality as any other pattern (non OEM) disk that he has seen. He could not say that they were as good as the AP OEM ones as they are very selective regarding metal quality / foundry etc.

The casting was good and even and the machine work was good also. The countersinking for the retaining screw was not perfect but that was it.

He would be perfectly happy to do additional machine work on them eg cross drill and or groove them without any problem.

He said they should be good enough for the less demanding driver and they may warp a bit quicker under hard braking like other pattern disks.

Sensibly he said someone needs to actually go and try them out properly on a car!

I will certainly consider using them as upgrades (from 300mm) for other 5 x 108 Renaults.

Please note that I have not yet tried them for physical fit and these comments are not a recommendation or guarantee!!

Get them fitted Stephen then I can buy some ;) Thanks for info - an interesting read this thread.

Paul - did you have any joy with Renault and their OEM discs last week?

Hi guys

Some great info from Stephen, cracking work.

I have spoke to my rep about this and he has taken the details away. We are still awaiting the results.

For the time being I am going to offer the Renault discs with a 35% discount - £358.20 Inc Vat and free delivery.

This is to try and help you guys, not a gimmick for me to try and sell old stock etc as was suggested before. I have only 1 set of each in stock at the moment. Trust me I do not gain anything out of this, just want to help because I think you deserve it for the passion you all show for the V6.

Regards
