Front discs from Apec

Hello Guys and Gals,

Just a heads up that hope fully in a few months Apec will be able to offer (through their dealer network) a front disc alternative to Renault.

I was fed up with silly prices Renault wanted so after speaking with the product manager at Apec I sent over one of my discs for them to measure up against what they had listed (310x28). I got word from him today that he would be sending the sample off to the factory so they can be accurately measured and then an alternative manufactured.

Price wise he said they would not be more than £200, hopefully significantly less than this but too early to say.

The chap at Apec spoke with a Renault Specialist(?) on Friday who said the 310x28 was used early on in production before they switched to 330x30. Does anyone on here have 310x28 out of interest?

I'll let you know when I hear more.

No owners with 310 discs have come forward.

Not at all commercial or poor quality, quite the opposite, a brittish manufacturer that meets all the european specs and even supplies oem to some manufacturers, real good quality.
 
These have now arrived [cmilie=iconcheers.gif] . The part number is dsk2779. I haven't fitted them yet as I brought new ones 6 months ago. I will post pics shortly. You can't buy these direct from APEC but a google search will find a stockist.

Good work fella. What sort of price have they ended up at?
 
Call me cynical but I wonder if Renault got wind of a alternative front disc supplier coming to the market and that why they have had a special offer on front discs in an effort to unload some stock before the new lower price items came on too the market and killed there effort to hold us to ransom of the cost of front discs

Now Sam be nice to APEC and ask for rear discs :rofl:

I was told Renault have a ten year licence for exclusivity from ap for the front discs which is due to expire very soon so we should be able to buy direct with out renaults commission.
Myself I've never heard of APEC ,personally i think you only get what you pay for.
myself I rather not fit cheap milk bottle tops I prefer the better when trying to stop but that's just me.

The discs you require DSK 2779 come in at £47.70 + VAT each and are available from Apec.

The catalogue information we hold is not compiled by ourselves but supplied by the manufacturers of the parts so any incorrect information is down to them.

It seems though that not only Apec may have this wrong but also QH,Mintex,Brakeworld,tarox and quite a few more.

We have now added an order point to these discs and will be carrying them in stock.

If you require them, they should be in stock with ourselves tomorrow.

Hi Guys

Just to confirm, we here at RPD did not know about anyone else producing the brake discs. We done a special offer to help you guys and for no gain to ourselves.

Does not surprise me if they do become available outside the dealer network, the genuine Renault price has always been too expensive in my eyes.

Anything I can help with let me know.
