Front and rear springs

Can the front and rear springs be removed without a spring compressor?

Just do it slowly...He's right you don't need them on the 172...but it's always advisable.

A lot of small French hatches have no pressure on them after the strut is out.

So, has the job been done yet? i did mine without but needed four hands when i changed the top mounts on the front, as already said there is very little pressure on them when out but as brett has warned, do take care.

That's what I suspected Spike, I am buying some spring compressors anyway. They are handy to have.

I am stripping my suspension and giving it a bit of TLC, so not done them yet.
