Seems like a cracking idea, but its execution may not be for the faint hearted, and the risk averse: Dragonfly Futurefön

.....and if you are willing to take a risk, the crowdfunded campaign is due to close in a couple of days: LINK

Her nose is well designed for those glasses.

Cool product.
Indeed it is - I mean the nose. ;)

Thought it was worth the risk to get in early at the offer price, but of course it is a risk, but one I am prepared to take.......

Not very elegant, looks clunky and very dated already. I was surprised by how much I dislike that.

I'm oooooot...

It was the specification and functionality offered for the price that drew me to it.

As an early backer, for around $550 (before further discounts) one would get a Windows 8.1 (64-bit) computer with an i7 processor, 8GB RAM and 512 SSD (solid state disc, plus an Android tablet with a 7-inch display and 8GB RAM that will also double as a smartphone as well. Effectively this is equivalent to having a MacBook Air, iPad and an iPhone all in one device. Not too fussed about the smartphone, but the other two are exactly what I was after since:

a) It has a right mix of operating systems for my needs - Windows and Android
b) It would drive me nuts if I were to synchronise and back up content from one device to another
c) Carrying all three around will also drive me nuts, and I do have to carry a laptop, which has a much larger footprint than this device, so was a no brainer really.
d) If bought separately, one cannot get these devices for a price anywhere close to this device, even at the full retail price.

One cannot expect the design to be compact given the actual footprint required to function, but yes, the design is rather clunky, but it certainly is fit for purpose for my use.

Having said that I now need to keep my fingers crossed and hope that this device will be delivered as promised - I have signed up for the beta test programmed as well, so will know how it is shaping up and may be able to influence its features and functionality as well. :)

There are a lot of doubters as to whether this will ever be delivered, but, as I said before, that is a risk I was willing to take...........
