Flapping Noise - Induction Kit... HELP!!!

Hi Guys,

I've come back from K-Tec racing to get some stuff fitted (Yes I caved in to doing the exhaust myself I was really struggling so much with it!).

I've had an Viper Induction Kit and am having a really worrying problem. Since the fitting, if I go over 80/85mph, I start to get this flapping noise coming from what sounds like right behind me. It starts very quiet and gets louder and more scratchy as I go faster. I tried to figure out where it was coming from by accelerating a bit more and it started to almost sounds like a grinding/scratchy noise?

It sounds like something is loose but I really don't know. Does anyone have an idea/suggestion?

Many thanks as per usual!

Phil.

Has the induction kit been secured correctly??? worth checking if the securing strap has actually been attached to anything, or have they put the engine covers back on properly?

The covers are all back on now. It looks like I'm going to have to get the top off and have a poke around.

One thing I did notice (that pi**sed me off a bit), is that I asked them to screw an undertray bolt back on that fell off. Since they have fitted my stuff, it is now looser and hanging more. I was thinking about this last night that this may be it?

Do you think this could be the problem?

Cheers,
Phil.

Make sure the actual rear engine under-tray is tucked under the centre under tray - not the other way round.

Some owners have had their trays fitted incorrectly and the rush of air underneatch the car can tear the under-tray off if it is not fitted in line with the air-flow direction.

If you go to any renault main dealer parts dept they should be able to pull up a parts schematic for the vee from your reg number. Then you just pick the right bits and pay the extortionate prices!
