FAO peps with a Pipercross air filter

Im not sure if i have not installed mine correctly, it sounds as though some air is escaping from the filter, there is no power loss from the car from what I can tell.

Basically it makes a hissing noise when you accelerate, a similar noise to that when a car tyre is being deflated.

Is this normal or do i need to look at my installation?

thats normal, its the point where the valve opens just slightly and is very very sexy!!!

Mine also does it tho would not have said its that loud, can also hear a slight rattle some times which when the windows are down results in a very nice noise from the exhaust

I'm waiting on mine coming. Postal strike is to blame.

Whats it like? Is it any louder and do you notice any change when driving?

Alex, had it in for a couple of weeks. took ALL the covers off too do it properly.

Does not sound artificial. Someone actually called me last night and said that they heard it go buy and it sounded class.

Alex, took me over 6wks to get that sodding filter. Make sure you get the one for the Mk2 Green P457612

I got sent the bloody mk1 filter! So gave it to andy!

Fire over one day if you need tools to fit!

Ali, go for the piper mate, its awesome and definitely no power loss. Took me about 1.5hr to install and im a novice at mechanical work tbh.

The big scream that you normally get when the car is standard at the higher rev range is emphasised ten fold.
