Hi guys, does anyone have a guide for changing the rocker gasketnon an f7r?

Mine is leaking and I'm sure I can do it myself, just need tomknow if I can and if there are any do's and dont's!!

thanks, andy

Haynes manual?

whip out the HT leeds, any breather pipes and the oil filler cap. Undo the 16 bolts, 10 or 11mm, and remove the cover. Peel away any remains of the old gasket from the cylinder head making sure to not lose any "inside" the engine.

Clean up rocker cover mating surface, and reversal of above to refit.

If the F7R is like the F7P you will need to lower in the cam end of the cover to get it to tuck under the pullies.

Take your time, if you rush it you can shift the gasket so make sure you look around it to see if the gasket is flush with the rest of the head. Make sure bolt threads are clean etc etc

Easy job, just don't let debris fall in the engine or you will cry.

If it helps, use a dab (pea size) of sealant underneath the gasket (on both ends & middle) to stop the gasket from moving when you put the cover back on. (y)

or a dab of grease.

Anyway is this a clio or megane f7r?

Megane is a rubber o-ring affair and can sort of fall out causing a continual leak

a folded or torn paper gasket on a metal cam cover one has the same affect right enough
