I cant start the car up, i turned the key to the start position, the engine just sits right there, no sound of firing, no sound of cranking, just dead there, then i turn back to off position, and start it back up again, it starts up fine...

It happened to me a few times already, not sure if it happens to any of you out there...

till this morning, i start it up and nothing comes up again, then i just stood there and kept trying, then, my dad just takes the subway to work....after 5 mins, miracle happened, the car finally starts...i get back to work as usual, the car still drives normally, i dont dare to stall the car though....

getting the car for the cambelt service soon, get u guys an update later...

Had a very similar experience with my 172 - battery was on it's way out! (strange as it seems) just changed it and all was fine.

You hear totally nothing or do you get something like a click from the back? Do you hear the fuelpumps? Could also be the starterengine, I've replaced it already. And if it is this one, ask the garage to retrace the wiring for the alternator and starterengine, because to my opinion it's to close to the exhaust. I retaced the cable behind the firewall of the fueltank, all the way to the alternator, and then from the alternator to the starterengine.

I would suggest a pressure regulator valve, something fuel related.

If you haven't already, turn the key into it's final position, hold for a few seconds and wait for the lights to go back out on the dash, then try firing her up.
