engine cleaning

my engine is filthy anyone ever detailed theres maybe a job for magpie i would get bored after 3 minutes anyone ever had theres done
 
If you get bored it’s probably not for you.

You can get specific engine cleaners/degreasers. Autoglym do one.

Use foil/Clingfilm to cover fuses or anything electrical then spray the cleaner then wipe off. After you could always use a plastic dressing once done. One way anyway : approve:

1. For the main engine and gearbox - low pressure jet wash after using a de-grease spray, try and avoid eletrics but they are pretty well protected if you avoid direct/prolonged jets in a single place i.e. best to sweep the lance and stop when the jet is directed onto the floor ...
2. For piping and plenum detailing - products like flash-dash sprayed and wiped with a cloth can work well and is pretty quick to do also ...
3. Vacuuming and using a stiff brush can also remove some of the dry deposits and dust on the top of the engine where the rocker covers and injector banks are ...
