eBay: 2006 55 Phase II Black Gold

Looks very nice ... Good price too and one of the lowest mileage later year ones I seen for sale for past year .
 
Looks like a few low-mileage Vees are coming out in the open.........

Second one-owner, low-mileage BG to surface in recent times, and both listed at the same price. The other one is discussed here, with reports from both David T and MagpieV6 who had viewed that car: LINK

It seems that £20K is a point of resistance for non-ID cars.
 
Really poor history.

Just 1 service in 8 1/2 years.

No belts. - the seller said there thinking of doing the belts.

Pity.
 
Looks like it'll just require an element of recommissioning then.. Like many collectors cars do.

I wouldn't turn it down just on a less than perfect service history, especially as it's a one owner car... The 'one owner' should be able to lay any concerns to bed. If not, the recommissioning process would just become even more thorough I'd have thought.

Always hard to tell a cars condition by a few pics in an advert.

Totally agree with this......

When buying such cars one would need to plan on a full engine/gearbox-out inspection, and change all oils/fluids, filters, belts and spark plugs. Brakes also would need to be inspected, and any issues addressed as necessary.

True, however what your talking about ( & as Dulan is ) is around a bill North of 1.5k.

Im just saying that placing a value of 20k on A vee without a decent history is a little OTT>

However let see if it sells......
 
Say it sells for £20K and you spend £3K sorting bits out, that's still good given it's 2nd from last car built.

One gets the feeling there are a groups of people who don't want the value of Vees to increase. Big used car traders don't seem to be the problem, but smaller dealers tend to be more resistant, plus of course we must not forget those experts who have never even sat in a Vee. ;)
 
Agree that £2-3K is a more realistic figure, and having been there, and done it, I think when such Vees come on to the market one must be prepared to invest a fair sum to ensure that the car receives due care and attention it needs if one wishes to see a return on their investment, which is why the mind set of a collector is different to that of somebody who wishes to use the car on a regular basis.

Having said that it certainly is good to see that Vees are now being appreciated for what they are, and are beginning to (seriously) pique the interest of collectors, classic car auctions and dealerships.

It's refreshing to see £20k become the base figure now for the majority of v6s being sold, therefore as you mention the inspection/belts/service are additionals. I think more and more of 'us are holding on to them - mainly due to this club, restricting the market place which is helping with the price hike recently. People are beginning to see them for what the are and appear to want to pay for the 'right' car. Dealers are catching on to this and are advertising at higher prices. Larger dealers are actually giving the marque the boost it needs. In more prosperous times, people are able to hold out for the price they want rather than needing to sell for silly money quickly too. All's good currently if it keeps going that way...
 
This Vee was purchased by a guy from Newport South Wales he then immediately booked it into renault to which I replaced the Cambelt kit, aux kit, water pump, major service, clutch & slave cylinder.

There was only 1 stamp in book.
