each to their own i guess.....

Ah..! This little beauty has surfaced again.... ;) Although i'm sure it was only the red grills that spoilt it last time it was advertised. :(

I'd love to know exactly what they mean by "tuned" as I doubt the induction kit is producing and extra 60 bhp.

Don't think he'll get too many bites some how. Would you go all the way to Newton Abbott on the strength of 5 lines of text, one blurry photo and a car that looks like it's been driven through a branch of Halfords? :(

Please tell me what serious engine modifications you had done to produce 300bhp.

Answer:
Remap, exhaust and viper induction kit makes this 300bhp.

I am sure this makes most of us laugh and a bit annoyed really ...

You have owners on here who have spent thousands to try and get a genuine increase upto this figure, and have struggled or fallen short, and then you get clowns like this with wild claims with just silly bolt on mods - it really makes you wonder what kind of people are taken in by this kind of BS ... I am sure there are some but hopefully not in the Vee community ... I am sure we see these kind of 'claims' on other forums ...

Martin

I agree, it's very frustrating.

For newbie owners though, it's very easy to get taken in my this. When I was looking at buying my Vee (over 3 years ago now), I heard all these claims of example 14bhp approx from a QS exhaust, and then a further 10bhp from the air filter.

I believed these claims (as I'm not particulary mechanically minded and knew very little about performance modding), but was corrected on joining this forum! Lets just hope these prospective owners either know that this is BS, or join this forum before buying to get reliably informed.

having removed a Pipercross Viper from my 182.. i know how pap they are... i'd go as far as saying they lose you bhp as opposed to gain it. Also notice it's had a KTec special remap

Out of interest why do you say this ?

You have more maintenance with a pipercross, or other foam/mesh filter, but most people just let them get clogged up and this then restricts air-flow ...

should have sent mine to k tec could have saved my self loads of money chasing the 300 barrier

i had big flat spots in mine with a Viper fitter, never felt the 5k kick with it. Now i'll agree that people put them on and them give them no maintenance but i took mine off and gave it a clean up and noticed no difference. Removing it has made a big change to the driveability of the car to me. I also appreciate that in some cars they might have a better effect than others :)
