Drivers side pod fan

Does anyone know where the double bayonet thing connects? I can't see where it should go.

Just found floating loose around whilst changing fuel pump.

I hope someone does know the answer to this as it's a future knowledge base gem I suspect.

The reference material as expected says " Disconnect the engine harness from the cooling fans " :ihatpcs:

I'm loathe to put the car back together whilst it's unconnected.

It looks like it goes towards the back of the car. I've just pulled it through for the photo.

I'm starting to think this is actually not supposed to be connected and is just left like that from the factory.
