Dodgy V6

Anyone seen that dodgy looking V6 for sale on Pistonheads for £6495?

IIRC the original ones released on the X reg had no spotlights- I may be wrong though- Perhaps its one of those released on a 51 Plate- at least there listing is fairly honest-

If you want a cheap track car where the paint or missing fogs are of no consequence and accept it probably needs a £1k cambelt service (there is no mention of this being done) then it's ok. Once you start factoring in a respray though you are into £9-10k territory.

When looking up headlamps the system asks for front fogs or not. However Renault do not currently list a front bumper without fog lamps nor do they list blanking trims for cars minus fog lamps.

I suspect this one has an aftermarket bumper. Have enquired.

just for info, the x reg ones do have spotlights:

i suspect thats an aftermarket front bumper, or they didnt want to shell out the £300 odd quid for the fog light surrounds.

600 even!! Lmao Dont blame them to be fair. I drove around for a while with carbon planking plates until I had them made for a third of the price.

To be fair, I wouldn't call that car at all "dodgy". It makes a change for a seller to be brutally honest for a start. So long as its only body work details that need sorting, that wouldn't be such a bad buy and judging by how honest the seller is, I bet he'd mention if it didn't drive too well. Who ever gets it will obviously know what they are getting and won't be fooled into thinking its a minter. Perfect car as it stands now for a track day junky maybe.

Agreed, it's just a tatty example by the sound of it. Worth a punt if you're on a budget and fancy a resotoration project :thumb

From the seller.

The front bumper is new and has had the fog lamp apertures capped over. He tells me "Paintwork is below standard, and the repairs could certainly have been better".

The seller IMO is a most respectable chap, and doesn't want anything about this car to be hidden. He would prefer it to be driven and seen before sold.
