Do you let others drive your Vee?

Just wondering if others let people drive their P&J?

I let the Mrs drive it, but only when I've been drinking ;)

I also let one of my closest friends drive it. He's a car journo so has plenty if experience in loads of cars. I Alan know that if he bends it (he wouldn't) that he can afford to mend it.

That's it though.

When I had mine I let a Motorsport instructor drive mine around the drift circuit at oulton park, he loved it and so did I sat in the passenger seat :-) it was sideways most of the time and his arms were all over the place adding the string input required to keep it in drift :race:

My daughter moved it 3 feet on the driveway once.
Scott SGM has the Vee longer than I do each year, I guess he's the only other driver.

My girlfriend has driven it once, after months of saying she didn't want to drive, incase she crashed it. She bloody loved it. Kept putting her foot down to hear the engine rumble as it does when you accelerate from 30mph in 3rd. I had to point out to her at one point that she was coming up to double the limit, she said she hadn't realised!

My missus occasionally drives it, but she's not generally a fan. Being as I am a father to 3 boys there are rare occasions where she'll have to go somewhere with 1 and I'll have to go with 2 and so we have to swap cars.

One such example was my middle son's paintballing party last year where she had to take my youngest somewhere else first and I took the 7 seater with my older 2 and some of their friends. On that occasion the Vee came back with ding in the boot . Never quite worked out how ... it was parked for a short while in a public car park! More likely that actually the damage had happened at home where it lives in the garage and something had been knocked over in its general direction a few weeks early. I suspect that I'd thought it'd not touched the Vee in the gloom but it had done . Still need to get one of those dent removal folk out in fact!

Yeah I had that, I stopped her when she started gritting her teeth and going mental on the pedal!

I enjoy sharing cars with friends/ family I get as much pleasure out of it as they do.

It's also good they return the gesture, often in some really exciting cars which is great. :approve:

I think whoever is driving the others car does so in an even more respectful way than the owner. I find myself tootling along in crazy quick stuff! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Good point, when Joe get's some tasty stuff on test I can nick it for an afternoon. Or when he's invited to some great events I often go along as 'official photographer' ;)

Occasionally if there's a long drive to a Motorsport Event then my mate does take over for a while, he's sensible about it though (I'm in the passenger seat afterall), he treats the Beast with respect and loves the way it drives 8)

Let the better half drive it once and she went over a speed bump at about 40... Never again! Just moi :)
