Dini Turbo head bolts - reuse or replace

Are the head bolts on a Dini Turbo reusable? If not is Renault the only place for them? I've tried Payen, British Gaskets and Firstline but no luck with them.

Are they the same as GT turbo bolts? If so there are always 12.9 ones for sale on ebay.My TS lump has 12.9s fitted i think that the standard ones are 10.9 as per your original question I reckon you can re-use them.Saying that if it goes tits up coz you have re-used them is it worth the risk?Hving just done my Astra the Haynes book of fiction does say that all fasteners must be re-newed,I dont remember that from the Renault one.I have a 1108 engine to strip,I can take a pic of the bolts/layout if all is the same as GT turbo ones then go for a set of 12.9s for the GT.

My father has just whipped the head off a spare Dini engine we've got and say s the bolts are about 6" long?! I've ordered in all the Renault head bolts I could but none of them are that long!

The Astra bolts are probably stretch bolts which is why you can't reuse them. I dunno if its the same with the Dini though. hmmmmmmmmmm :?

Time 13:30 I will have a cuppa and remove a 1108 headbolt straight away.Back in about 30 mins

Does this help? They are from the 1108 engine.

Is that 11 or 1.1?

I always reuse them  unless you really cooked the car :(

Cheers Cliche. It helps to eliminate 1108 bolts :D The ones I've got are the biggest headbolts I've seen - bigger than a 24v Vauxhall motor anyway!

The car hasn't cooked as far as I can tell, it's just been getting hot the last couple of days since putting the engine back in. The only thing I've changed is the water pump and that's working fine. I've a horrible feeling the liner base seals have gone. I don't know why I just feel it in my blood

Oh dear I feel a rebuild coming along......   I had the same scenario with a Alpine GTA atmo, hoses were pressurising and when I removed the head I discover somebody already tried to fix the head gasket, but the liners sills were at fault instead.

Good luck.....

Ive had that before. Its amazing that basically a round Rizla can be so important. Before all that just check that the pipe to the expansion tank is not obstructed either in the pipe or where it connects to the rad or the bottle.I've had that too.

Bolts

You can just go to your local bolt shop ( AHC) and buy M10 x 160 12.9s cap heads which are far better than the standard ones and torque to 55ft/lbs to get slightly more clamp load.

Have recently rebuilt my gordini turbo engine. I did try to get hold of new ones but could not. Then found out from a guy that worked at radbourn racing, that the bolts are re-usable, so i just put the old ones back in!

Likewise. I just bunged them back in! My sister has been 'driving' (I calling it ragging) the car around for 6 weeks now and it goes better than ever. Such a sweet driving little car, it really could show modern cars what fun driving can be like.
