DBA brake discs

I am in discssions at the moment for DBA to possibly make a run (min' 50) of their brake discs. These are fanstastic quality ( I ran the DBA 4000 Golds on my R34 GTR and are really the mutts nutts). The link to the DBA site is:

http://www.dba.com.au/2006/default.asp

I guess we would need either the 4000 series or 5000 series(prefered). To get a run(s) made, I would need names of interested owners. I have spare used discs to send out as a template.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

These will be replacements for the front and rear phase 1 and phase 2. The 4000 series are an all in one disc and the 5000 has a sperate rotar for better heat dispersal.

I paid in early 2006 just over £300.00 for a pair of DBA 4000 golds for the R34 GTR. When you consider that K-tech sell standard Discs at £220.00 plus vat plus postage, these are great value.

Im intrested, Let me know a price soon as.

My bro has fitted the DBA 4000 series all round to his mitsi 3000gt last week and are immense brakes.

But he did have to wait over 12 months for shipping as there was lots of trouble with the couriers. - Or so he was told anyway.

The importers in Abredeen are going to contact DBA and get a 50 run costing on fronts and rears. I would suggest for price to go for the 4000 Golds which are slotted and drilled but do not have a seperate rotar. This will keep the price lower since the 5000 series would cost IRO £300.00 each plus.

hi Nik, i am steveukv6's brother, i have some opinions on these and the people who supply them!!

granted they are brilliant discs i have just bedded them in with the ferodo ds2500 pads and the result is awesome!!!

for a near on 2 tonne car it stops on a dime!!

however i had a lot of trouble getting them!!

firstly i tried wallace performance in scotland, i hope these are not the people you are talking to as they are complete idiots!!! i was fobbed off for 6 months with promises of delivery and everytime i rang up to question there delivery time they gave some lame excuse either about lost shipping orders or dba not making the discs yet!!

secondly i was in contact with gripforce brakes usa they said they had them in stock and ready to ship!! so stupid me i paid them straight away inc $300 shipping fee, 3 months later they finally arrived after numerous emails about lost shipping consignments and missplaced stock in there warehouse!!

i only hope you have more luck than i did! be aware tho you may be in for the long haul!!

on a positive note they are awaesome discs!!!

To have a run made, we need to get 50 (25 pairs). I am waiting for the costing for the 25 sets and when I do, I will post up the price.

I am happy to co-ordinate this on the basis that I want a set and need you guys to order them as well in order that I can buy a set!!!!!!

They are just fantasic discs with "kangaroo paw" technology. I did 5 hard track days in the R34 GTR and went through 2 sets of Ferodo DS2500 pads and NO lip wear on the DBA discs!

They were the Golds - 4000 series

God I hate saying this type of stuff. :(

BUT judging by my other group buys we will struggle to get ten people on board let alone 25.

Would it still be possible with approx 15 people?

Sorry to be a wet blanket.
Peter :(

Just an update,

DBA are now seriously considering this, but we need more interested parties to make it worth a production run.
